Princess Aiko celebrates her 22nd birthday, spending busy but fulfilling days studying Japanese literature

　宮内庁くないちょうは誕生日たんじょうびに際さいし、愛子あいこさまが皇居こうきょの書陵部しょりょうぶで「百人一首ひゃくにんいっしゅ」の写本しゃほんや虫むしなどが和歌わかを詠よみ合あう物語ものがたりが描えがかれたすごろくをご覧らんになる様子ようすを公開こうかいしました

On the occasion of her birthday, the Imperial Household Agency released a video of Princess Aiko viewing a Sugoroku, which depicts a manuscript of ”Hyakunin Isshu” and a story of insects reciting waka poems to each other, in the Imperial Palace Library Department.

Princess Aiko is studying Japanese literature such as waka at Gakushuin University and is currently working on her graduation thesis.

　放課後ほうかごに大学だいがくの閲覧室えつらんしつや書庫しょこで資料しりょうを集あつめるなど、忙いそがしくも充実じゅうじつした日ひび々を送おくられているということです

Her days are busy but fulfilling, such as collecting materials in the university’s reading room and archives after school.

　今年ことしは両陛下りょうへいかのご結婚けっこん30年ねんの節目ふしめで、愛子あいこさまはその展覧会てんらんかいをご覧らんになるなどして、両陛下りょうへいかの歩あゆみや皇室こうしつの歴史れきしや伝統でんとうに触ふれ、皇族こうぞくとしてのお務つとめについて改あらためて思おもいを深ふかくしていらっしゃるご様子ようすだということです
