Foreigners who come to Japan for travel do not need to pay taxes if they complete the necessary procedures for shopping.
This is called ”tax exemption”
A company in Tokyo has created a machine that looks like a locker where you can pick up duty-free items that you have ordered online.
A QR code will appear when you reserve duty-free items such as food and cosmetics on the website.
When you leave Japan, you can receive your items by showing the QR code or passport to the machine containing the items.
No need to go through procedures at stores or carry items while traveling

The company has this machine in five locations in Japan, including stations near Haneda Airport.
