The president announced the establishment of a large-scale semiconductor production base in South Korea.
韓国の尹錫悦（ユンソンニョル）大統領は１５日、首都ソウル近郊の京畿道に世界最大規模の半導体生産拠点を建設する計画を明らかにしました
South Korean President Yoon Seol-yeol has announced plans to build the world’s largest semiconductor production base in Gyeonggi-do, near the capital Seoul.
尹氏は、韓国サムスン電子が今後２０年間で約３００兆ウォン（約３０兆円）を投資すると発表
Yoon announced that South Korea’s Samsung Electronics will invest about 300 trillion won (about 30 trillion yen) over the next 20 years.
Samsung also confirmed the plan on the same day.
サムスンは昨年５月、２０２６年にかけて中核事業の半導体製造やバイオ医薬品生産に３５００億ドル（約４６兆円）あまりを投資し、数万人の雇用を創出する計画を発表していました
In May last year, Samsung announced plans to invest more than $350 billion (approximately ¥46 trillion) in its core business of manufacturing semiconductors and biopharmaceuticals through 2026, creating tens of thousands of jobs.
It is not clear whether the plans announced on the 15th overlap with this.
