Hong Kong authorities indict 47 pro-democracy for violating national security law

In Hong Kong, 53 prominent lawmakers and activists were arrested in connection with the primary election held by the pro-democracy in July 2020.
The primary was the selection of candidates for the legislative council elections scheduled for September 2020.
Democrats sought to win a majority in legislative elections
39 men and 8 women were indicted, aged 23-64 years

This indictment showed that the application of the National Security Law is expanding rapidly.
Until now, the number of people charged with the National Security Law and appeared in court was limited.
The National Security Law considers independence, overthrow of the government, terrorism, collusion with foreign powers, etc. as crimes.
