Mt. Aso in Kumamoto Prefecture erupted at noon on the 20th.
The Japan Meteorological Agency has raised the eruption alert level to ”3” ”mountain entry restrictions” and is calling for caution.
According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, an eruption occurred at Nakadake No. 1 crater on Mt. Aso at around 11:43 am.
With this eruption, the pyroclastic flow reached more than 1 km from the crater, and the eruption smoke rose to 3500 meters from the crater edge.
The Japan Meteorological Agency has raised the eruption alert level to ”3” ”mountain entry restrictions” and is calling for caution against large volcanic blocks and pyroclastic flows that accompany the eruption within a range of approximately 2 km from the crater.
Also, on the leeward side, small fountains and volcanic ash may be washed away by the wind, so be careful.
