The Taliban, an Islamist in power in Afghanistan, has banned women from appearing in TV dramas under new media regulation legislation.

All dramas in which women appear are prohibited, including love dramas and entertainment programs.

The Taliban Ministry for the Propagation and Discipline has issued eight instructions regarding programs that allow broadcasting.
This is the first time these restrictions have been imposed on the country’s broadcast network.

Based on this instruction, female moderators of news programs are required to wear a scarf that covers their heads, and men are required to be ”properly dressed”.
