Last week, TEPCO filed an application with the government to raise the ”regulatory rate” contracted by more than half of households.
TEPCO announced its financial results for the nine months from April to December of last year, recording a record deficit of 650.9 billion yen for this period.
Due to the situation in Ukraine, the procurement cost of LNG (liquefied natural gas), which is the fuel for power generation, has increased significantly, putting pressure on earnings.
In response to this situation, we have announced that the financial forecast for fiscal 2022, which ends in March this year, will also be in the red with a loss of 317 billion yen.
