The export value of agricultural, forestry, fishery and food products in 2022 will be 1.4148 trillion yen, an increase of 14.3% from the previous year.
With the recovery in demand for eating out due to the economic recovery and the weaker yen, the amount was the highest ever in all fields of agricultural products, forestry products, and marine products.
By item, scallops and yellowtail increased by more than 30% from the previous year, and alcohol such as sake and whiskey, which are gaining international recognition, increased by 21%.
The government aims to achieve the annual export value of 2 trillion yen before 2025
