Lost Letters of Mary, Queen of Scots Found, Decrypted

A team of three cryptanalysts discovered and deciphered a valuable letter written by Mary Stuart, Queen of Scots.
Fifty-seven secret letters were addressed from Mary to the French ambassador to England between 1578 and 1584, and were written in complex code.
It was discovered 436 years after Mary’s execution on February 8, 1587.
Most of the letters were kept in the National Library of France in Paris
Documents, including letters, were classified as early 16th century documents and believed to be related to Italy.
The three found expressions using the female form, references to imprisonment, and the keyword ”Walsingham”
Walsingham refers to Francis Walsingham, a close aide to Queen Elizabeth I who served as chief of intelligence.
All of these points point to the possibility that Mary Stuart’s letters, thought missing for centuries, have been found.
In total, about 50,000 words were deciphered this time.
It sheds new light on Mary’s imprisonment in England.
