世界せかいの高校生こうこうせいの「物理ぶつりオリンピック」が始はじまった　日本にっぽんで初はじめて

The International Physics Olympiad has Begun, for the First Time in Japan

「国際物理こくさいぶつりオリンピック」は、世界せかいの高校生こうこうせいが物理学ぶつりがくの問題もんだいに挑戦ちょうせんする大会たいかいです

The ’International Physics Olympiad’ brings together high school students from around the world to take on challenging Physics problems.

若わかい人ひとに物理学ぶつりがくに興味きょうみを持もってもらうため、1967年ねんに始はじまりました

The event was started in 1967 yo get young people interested in Physics.

今年ことしは日本にっぽんで初はじめて大会たいかいを開ひらいています

This year, Japan is hosting the event for the first time.

10日とおかの開会かいかい式しきには、80ぐらいの国くにと地域ちいきから集あつまった高校生こうこうせいの選手せんしゅなど500人にんが出席しゅっせきしました

At the opening ceremony on the 10th, 500 participating high school students from around 80 different countries and regions were in attendance.

式しきでは、2008年ねんに物理学ぶつりがくでノーベル賞しょうをもらった小林こばやし誠まことさんが「物理学ぶつりがくの勉強べんきょうは将来しょうらいの大切たいせつな財産ざいさんになります

During the ceremony, Makoto Kobayashi, a Physics Nobel Prize winner in 2008, gave speech: ”The study of physics is a valuable asset to the future.”

頑張がんばってください」と言いいました

選手せんしゅたちの紹介しょうかいでは、会場かいじょうの人ひとがウクライナの高校生こうこうせいに特とくに大おおきな拍手はくしゅをしていました

As all participants were being introduced, the team from Ukraine received a particularly large round of applause.

選手せんしゅたちは実験じっけんなどの難むずかしい問題もんだいに挑戦ちょうせんします

Participants will be taking on some of the most difficult problems in the field of Physics.

成績せいせきがいい選手せんしゅは金きん、銀ぎん、銅どうのメダルをもらいます

The highest-graded participants will receive gold, silver and bronze medals.

大会たいかいは17日にちまでです

The event will close on the 17th.

若わかい人ひとに物理学ぶつりがくに興味きょうみを持もってもらうため、1967年ねんに始はじまりました

It is a competition that started in 1967 for young people who have interest in Physics.

This year the tournament is held for the first time in Japan.
