Mr. Kubota, who was prosecuted in Myanmar, will go to trial again in two weeks

It turned out that the trial of a Japanese male journalist who was indicted after being detained in Myanmar is scheduled to be held again in about two weeks.
According to officials, Toru Kubota’s trial was held in a special court inside the prison on the 16th.
Mr. Kubota did not have a lawyer, and an imprisoned Myanmar man who could speak Japanese acted as an interpreter during the trial.
The military has issued a statement regarding the future treatment of Mr. Kubota, stating that ”it is necessary to wait for the judgment of the special court.”
The next trial is scheduled for the 30th, and there are concerns that the detention will be prolonged.
