電動キックボードの交通ルールが今日から新しくなり、一定の条件を満たせば、運転免許無しでの走行が可能となります。　
New traffic rules for electric kickboards are in effect today, allowing them to be ridden without a driver's license if certain conditions are met.
電動キックボードはこれまで「原付バイク」と同じ扱いで、利用には免許が必要でしたが、今日から道路交通法の一部が改正されたことに伴い、自転車並みの分類に変わります。
Electric kickboards have been treated like "mopeds" and required a license for use, but starting today, they will be classified as similar to bicycles in accordance with a partial revision of the Road Traffic Law.
ナンバープレートやウィンカーは必要ですが、最高時速20キロを超えない車体で、一定の条件を満たせば、16歳以上は免許がいらなくなります。　
License plates and blinkers are required, but if the vehicle does not exceed a maximum speed of 20 km/h and meets certain conditions, a license is not required for those over 16 years of age.
さらに時速6キロ以下であれば、歩道も通行ができます。　
In addition, vehicles can travel on sidewalks as long as the speed is below 6 km/h.
ヘルメットの着用は「努力義務」です。

電動キックボードは普及が進む一方で、今回の改正によって事故がさらに増える可能性があることから、警察庁はイベントなどを通じて交通ルールの周知を進めていくとしています。
