西村経産大臣は北米産の電気自動車の税額を控除するアメリカの優遇策について、日本産の車も恩恵を受けられるように要件が緩和される見通しになったと明らかにしました。　
アメリカでは北米産の電気自動車の税額を控除する「インフレ抑制法」が成立しています。　
控除の対象から外れた日本車はアメリカでの販売が不利になることが懸念されていて、政府はこれまでアメリカに要件の緩和を求める意見書を出していました。
「日本で採取または加工された関連重要鉱物を使ったEVが、税額控除を受ける要件を満たすことになる見込みであります」　
また、西村大臣はアメリカと重要鉱物の供給網を強化する協定を締結すると発表しました。
