こちらが駿河湾の水深約1500メートルで見つかったクサウオ科の新種「スルガノオニビ」です。
This is new fish species called "Suruga no Onibi" of the Liparidae family, it has been found at a depth of 1500m in Suruga Bay.
丸みを帯びた頭部と細長い尾の部分、さらに青白い色などが日本の怪談に登場する火の玉「鬼火」に似ていることから命名されました。
This fish has a round head and elongated tail, its color is as pale as the "Onibi" ghosts that appear in Japanese ghost stories, so it is named "Suruga no Onibi".
スルガノオニビを発見したのは東海大学海洋学部の研究グループで、専門誌のオンライン版で報告したということです。
Suruga no Onibi was discovered by a research group at the Department of Oceanography, Tokai University, and its image was published on the online page of a specialized magazine.
