能登半島地震の影響で、津波の観測が十分にできなくなっていた石川県の輪島港に新たな津波観測装置が設置されました。
輪島港に新たに取り付けられた装置は、水面から海底まで電波を飛ばして距離を測ったり、水圧の変化を測ったりして潮位の変化と津波を観測します。
輪島港では、元々設置されていた潮位計が地震の影響で使えなくなり、8日以降は臨時の観測装置でデータを収集していましたが、
今日新たに、より安定的に正確な観測ができる大型の装置が設置されました。
大容量のバッテリーを備えていて、ソーラーパネルが使えないほどの悪天候が続いても1週間は運用できるといいます。
リアルタイムの潮位データは、早ければあす以降に気象庁のホームページで確認できるということです。
