The U.S. GDP (gross domestic product) growth rate from April to June was an annualized increase of 2.8%, exceeding market expectations.
According to preliminary GDP figures from April to June released by the U.S. Department of Commerce on the 25th, the growth rate was an annualized increase of 2.8% compared to the previous three months, exceeding market expectations of around 2%.
Eight consecutive quarters of positive growth.
This was due to strong personal consumption and increased corporate capital investment.
As the US economy showed strength, expectations for an early interest rate cut by the Federal Reserve Board (Federal Reserve Board) receded, and the yen depreciated in the foreign exchange market.
At one point, the dollar was at the 154 yen level.
