A spokesman for the Islamic Shiite armed organization ”Houthi”, which confronts the Saudi coalition forces in the civil war in neighboring Yemen, claims to have attacked Jeddah with missiles as well as the capital Riyadh with unmanned aircraft.
According to Reuters, the Saudi coalition forces airstrikes on the Houthis-controlled Yemeni capital, Sana’a, and the western port city of Hodeida on the 26th.
As crude oil prices soared due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the Saudi Ministry of Energy accused the Houthis of the attack, saying it could affect its ability to meet the demands of the global market.
