”This is the first step in the change that is coming,” Rodriguez, a lawyer and journalist, told CNN Espanol after the contest.

Rodriguez’s participation was made possible only after the governing body of Miss Universe changed its age rules.

出場者しゅつじょうしゃは２０２３年ねんまで、出場しゅつじょうする年ねんの１月がつ１日時点ついたちじてんで１８～２８歳さいでなければならなかった

Until 2023, contestants must be between 18 and 28 years old as of January 1 of the year they participate.

２０２４年ねんからは年齢ねんれいに上限じょうげんは設もうけられていない

From 2024, there will be no upper age limit.

”I think it’s a positive change and like all changes, it’s gradual,” Rodriguez said, adding that she was grateful for the opportunity to be one of the first.
