A large number of pilot whales were spotted huddling off the coast of Western Australia on the 25th.
”After that, nearly 100 ran around on the beach.”
According to local authorities, at least 51 died overnight, but 250 volunteers rescued 45 and survived.
”In the future, we plan to use ships to move whales to deeper waters.”
It’s not known what caused the mass of whales to run aground, but local media say the whole pod may have been accidentally led ashore by sick and weakened whales, or the killer whales may have escaped and washed ashore. Conveying the opinion of experts
