Millions strike in France against raising pension age

This strike was called by eight major labor unions opposing the pension system reform announced by the Macron administration.
The government’s reform bill would raise the age at which full pension payments begin from the current 62 to 64.
The government described the measures as necessary to address the pension fund deficit, but angered workers as the cost of living rose.
Teachers and transportation staff participated in the strike, and according to the Ministry of Education, more than 40% of elementary school teachers and more than one-third of high school teachers participated in the strike.
