世界初となる「歯が生える薬」の開発を進める大阪の北野病院などの研究チームは、人に薬を投与する治験を9月から始めると発表しました。　
A research team at Kitano Hospital in Osaka, which is developing the world's first teething medicine, has announced that it will begin clinical trials in September to administer the drug to humans.
研究チームは人の永久歯が抜けた後、新しい歯が生えてこないのは特定のたんぱく質が原因であると突き止め、2018年にこのたんぱく質の働きをなくす薬を世界で初めて開発しました。　
The team discovered that a specific protein was the cause of new teeth not growing after permanent teeth fell out, and in 2018, they developed the world's first drug that eliminates the function of this protein.
研究チームはこれまでに、マウスやイヌなどで歯を生やすことに成功していましたが、9月から30歳から65歳未満の男性30人に薬を投与して、安全性を確認する治験を始めます。　
The team has so far succeeded in inducing teething in mice and dogs, but starting in September, they will conduct a trial in which they will administer the drug to 30 men between the ages of 30 and under 65 to confirm the safety of the drug.
2025年度中には、先天的に永久歯が生えてこない2歳から7歳の子どもを対象にした治験も検討しているということです。
By the end of 2025, the company is considering conducting a clinical trial targeting children between 2 and 7 years old, who are born unable to develop permanent teeth.
