東京医科歯科大学の高橋英彦主任教授らは、ギャンブル依存症の人と健康な人、合わせて161人の脳の画像をAIで分析したところ、

ギャンブルに依存している人にみられる特有のパターンを発見しました。

ギャンブル依存症の人は自分が依存しているという認識が乏しく、ますますはまっていく傾向にあることから、客観的な診断を目指し、このシステムを開発したということです。

高橋主任教授は健康な人と依存症の人の脳のパターンを数値化することで自分が依存症であると理解しやすくなり、治療へのモチベーションが高まるのではないかと話しています。
