The open sea came in, and as mentioned just now,
泥が流れてしまったっていう影響で。
because mud flowed in due to the effect of the tsunami.
生態系にどんないい影響なのか、これからどういうことが起きていくかっていうことを、
What good effect does that have on the ecology, and what's going to happen from now on?
ちょっと予測としてお聞きしたいんですけど。
I'd like to ask about your estimation for this.
えーとまあまず、外側の堤防が壊れたことでですね、新しく多分砂が入ってきたのと、
Well, first of all, because the outer dike was damaged, new sand probably came in, and
流れが速くなって、あのまあ津波で泥も飛びましたけど、流れが多分速くなったことで、
the current became quicker. The tsunami blew away mud too, but probably because the current became quicker,
後からこう入ってきた泥も飛んだんだと思うんです。
I think the mud that came in later got blown away as well.
で砂の表面ってこう意外に綺麗で、意外っていうかかなり綺麗でですね、
The surface of the sand is surprisingly clean. Or rather than surprising, I'd say it's very clean.
あの砂の上に浮泥、あのふわふわした泥が積もってないとですね、
If floating mud, umm, fluffy mud doesn't accumulate on that sand,
あの色んな生き物の幼生が着底して、生き残りやすくなります。
it's easier for the larva of all sorts of living things to settle and survive.
ですから多分今年の春以降ですね、あの冬幼生、色んな種類、砂地にこう入植して来る生物、
Therefore, probably after this spring, all sorts of winter larva, living things that have immigrated to the sandy place like that,
あのアサリとか他のヒトデとか、色んな生き物を含めて多分急激に密度が高くなってくると思います。
I think it'll probably be drastically densely packed with all sorts of living things including things like clams and other starfish.
でただし、あの水深が深くなったことで、泥が多分堆積しやすい環境になっているんで、
However, the water depth has become deeper - it's an environment where mud easily accumulates.
今から一年、二年、三年はもしかしたらアサリがたくさん増えて採れるとか、
One, two, three years from now, the clams may have multiplied so much we can harvest lots of them,
いうことがあると思うんですけど。
or something like that, I think.
その後はもしかしたら泥が以前より積もるようになって、
After that, the mud may have accumulated more than before,
漁場の環境が悪くなる可能性もあります。
and it's also possible the fishing environment may worsen.
そういう意味で継続してこういう調査をしていくことが大事?

例えばあのたまたま津波の影響で環境がよくなってアサリが増えたのであれば、

人為的に同じような現象、津波を起こさなくてもあの外洋の水をある時期だけ取り入れて、
Causing the same phenomenon artificially without a tsunami, letting in water from the open sea only for a certain period
泥が飛ぶようにするとかですね、
and blowing away the mud, etc.,
何かそういうことを考えればまあ豊かな漁場として維持できると、

まあそういう可能性がもしかしたら示されるんじゃないかと思います。
