Developed by Toshiba, the world’s smallest sensor that grasps 300m ahead

Toshiba announced that it has developed the world’s smallest sensor that can detect up to 300 meters ahead by automatic driving of a car.
Toshiba’s new device reflects laser light on an object to measure the distance, and detects things that are difficult to capture with a normal camera such as darkness and snow with high accuracy.
We reduced the size of the device developed last year by 40% and completed the world’s smallest device that can grasp up to 300 meters ahead, which is 1.5 times as much as before while maintaining image quality.
Toshiba wants to utilize it for infrastructure monitoring, etc.
