Tokyo metropolis says ”Durong cherry blossom season, please do not gather for food, drinks, etc.”

Cherry blossom season is quickly approaching.
In early March, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government banned people from gathering to drink and eat at six metropolitan parks, including Ueno Park, Inokashira Park, and Yoyogi Park.
There are some areas near the Sakura trees that people are not allowed to enter.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government is thinking of extending measures in place to stop the spread of Covid after their scheduled end date on the 21st of March until the end of Cherry Blossom season.
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government says, ”If you gather without a mask to eat or if a lot of people gather at cherry blossom viewing, there is a concern that the virus will be transmitted.
When the cherry-blossom viewing season is over, restrictions on these areas will be lifted gradually.”
