Ring the requiem bell and pray to your deceased friend
On the 11th, 10 years after the Great East Japan Earthquake, people ringing bells for memorial service visited the summit of Miyama in Yamamoto Town, Miyagi Prefecture from early morning.
At the top of the deep mountain at an altitude of 287 meters, there is a requiescats bell built to pray to those who died in the Great East Japan Earthquake.
Akitada Suzuki (76), who lives in Iwanuma City, lost three friends in the tsunami caused by the earthquake.
Mr. Suzuki and the three who died were fellow taxi drivers and had friends with each other.
Mr. Suzuki moved to Miyagi prefecture 22 years ago.
It is said that the existence of three people was very important for Mr. Suzuki who did not know him.
Mr. Suzuki still visits this place regularly, 10 years after the earthquake.
After 6 am, I rang the bell illuminated by the morning sun and prayed to my three dead friends.
Akitada Suzuki said, ”When I come to this place, I feel like I can meet my deceased friends.
It’s been 10 years since I put my hands together and ring the bell. ”
