Effective job openings-to-applicants ratio in February: 1.09 times New job openings decreased for 14 consecutive months
The effective job openings-to-applicants ratio in February was 1.09 times, slightly lower than the previous month.
The number of new job offers from companies has decreased for 14 consecutive months compared to the same month last year, and the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare states that ``the downward trend in job offers due to the impact of the new coronavirus continues.’’
According to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, the effective job openings-to-applicants ratio in February was 1.09 times, which is 0.01 points lower than the previous month.
The number of active job offers from companies at Hello Work offices nationwide was 2,170,424 in February, a decrease of 396,321 from the same month last year, or 15.4% less.
Of these, 766,349 new job openings were posted by companies in February, a decrease of 14.6% compared to the same month of the previous year, marking the 14th consecutive month of decrease compared to the same month of the previous year.
