Fire at export car storage area, about 50 cars burned, Moji, Kitakyushu
26日未明、北九州市門司区の輸出用自動車保管場で、止めてあった車両およそ50台が燃える火事がありました
In the early hours of the 26th, a fire broke out in an export vehicle storage yard in Moji Ward, Kitakyushu City, burning approximately 50 parked vehicles.
According to the police, just after 1:30 a.m., a report was received that ”multiple vehicles were on fire” at an export car storage facility in Shin-Mojikita, Moji-ku, Kitakyushu City.
The fire was extinguished approximately three and a half hours after the report, but approximately 40 to 50 parked passenger cars were burnt.
There were no injuries.
Hundreds of cars, including used cars for overseas export, were stored at the site, and it is believed that the building was unoccupied at the time of the fire.
Police and fire departments are investigating the cause of the fire.
