Simon & Schuster sells to Penguins US publishing 1st and 3rd place integrated

Viacom CBS, a major US media company, announced on the 25th that it will sell Simon & Schuster, a major US publisher under its umbrella, to Penguin Random House, the largest in the industry, for $ 2,175 million (about 227 billion yen).
The first and third publishers in the United States will be merged
Penguin Random House is a subsidiary of German media giant Bertelsmann
The sale agreement is expected to be finalized next year and requires regulatory approval
ViacomCBS owns the CBS network of US television, Paramount Pictures, a major movie company, and the music channel ”MTV”.
The company described the sale as part of an effort to sell non-core assets following last year’s merger with CBS.
