30% of men took childcare leave, the highest percentage ever

Childcare leave is a system that allows working people to take time off from work to raise their babies.
厚生労働省が去年10月に調べると、会社などで育児休業をとった男性は30%でした
According to a survey conducted by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare in October last year, 30% of men took childcare leave at work.
This is an increase of 13 points from the year before, the highest increase ever.
84% were women
この中の90%以上の女性は、6か月以上仕事を休みました
More than 90% of these women took more than 6 months off work.
However, men had less time, with about 40% having it shorter than 2 weeks.
According to a group from the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, 57% of men and 65% of women between the ages of 18 and 25 do not want to work at a company where no one takes childcare leave.
