Honda closes some factories due to struggles in China

Honda has announced that it will reduce production capacity for gasoline vehicles by 20% in China, its largest production base.
Of the current annual production capacity of approximately 1.5 million units in China, the factory in Guangdong province that produces 50,000 units will be closed in October, and the factory in Hubei province that produces 240,000 units will also be suspended in November.
In China, Chinese manufacturers are increasing their market share mainly in EVs (electric vehicles), while Japanese manufacturers continue to struggle, with Mitsubishi Motors already deciding to withdraw from the market.
