Ishikawa Wajima Vendors on damaged morning market street selling local specialties
People who had opened shops on Asaichi Dori in Wajima City, Ishikawa Prefecture, which was severely damaged by the Noto Peninsula Earthquake, held an event near Asaichi Dori to sell local specialties.
イベントは輪島市の朝市通りに近い「マリンタウン」で開かれ、通りに店を出していた人や地元の飲食店など、合わせて34の店が参加しました
The event was held at ``Marine Town’’ near Asaichi Dori in Wajima City, and a total of 34 businesses participated, including street vendors and local restaurants.
会場には、朝市通りの名物として親しまれていたオレンジ色のテントが軒を連ね、訪れた地元の人たちは店の人との会話を楽しみながら干物や野菜などを買い求めていました
The venue was lined with orange tents that were a familiar feature of Asaichi Street, and the locals who visited bought dried fish and vegetables while enjoying conversations with the store staff.
Taiko drum performances by local high school students were also performed on the stage set up at the venue.

A woman from Wajima City who visited with her 3-year-old daughter said, ``It was lively and energizing, and I was happy to see familiar faces for the first time in a while.
There are no places for children to play, so events like this are really great.”
Kyoko Izumi, who sells local sake, said, ``I’m happy to be able to open a store in Wajima City,’’ as this is the first time she’s opened a business in Wajima City since the earthquake.
Recovery is still to come, but right now I’m feeling nostalgic.”
