First female governor of New York named as Cuomo’s successor after resignation due to sexual harassment

On the 24th, Kathy Hoechle (62), a Democrat, was sworn in to replace Mr. Cuomo, who resigned as governor of New York due to sexual harassment issues, becoming the first female governor of New York.
Hoechl later gave an online speech in which he vowed to ”dramatically” change the culture of state politics and ”make our state work again.”
Mr. Hoechl emphasized, ``We will not tolerate any individuals who cross the line and will hold them accountable.’’
Ordered review of state guidelines on sexual harassment and ethics
Hoechl was promoted from lieutenant governor to governor following Cuomo’s resignation.
