Passenger ship runs aground in shallow water One passenger slightly injured Shimane Oki Islands
On the evening of the 21st, a passenger ship carrying a total of nine passengers and crew ran aground in shallow water while sailing on the Oki Islands in Shimane Prefecture, and one passenger was slightly injured.
The passenger ship had a hole in its hull and was flooded, but was towed by another ship and arrived at a port in the Oki Islands.

When it ran aground, there was a hole in the hull and it was flooded, but it was towed by another ship and arrived at a port in the Oki Islands after 8:00 pm.
According to the Oki Islands Coast Guard Station, there were nine passengers and crew on board the passenger ship, all of whom were rescued by another ship dispatched by the operating company.
A female passenger in her 20s suffered a minor cut on her lip in the accident.
The passenger ship was about 16.5 meters long and had a gross tonnage of about 19 tons, and was en route from Chiburi Island in Chibu Village to Nakanoshima in Ama Town.
The Japan Coast Guard is investigating the ship`s hull and listening to stories from the crew to find out the cause of the grounding.
