技能教習が
行われることになります。
In response to the decrease in people driving manual cars, starting from April 1, even those who wish to obtain a manual car license will, in principle, receive skills training in automatic cars when acquiring a regular drivers license at driving schools.
ギアとクラッチの操作が必要な「マニュアル車」を運転できる普通免許を教習所で新規に取得する際、これまでは教習所のコースや路上で「マニュアル車」を使って34時間以上の技能教習が行われていました。
When obtaining a new regular drivers license at a driving school that allows you to operate a manual car requiring gear and clutch operation, skill training using a manual car was previously conducted for more than 34 hours on the course and on the road at the driving school.
しかし、警察庁によりますと、おととし、普通免許を取得した116万人あまりのうち、およそ68％が「オートマチック車」限定の免許を取得するなど「マニュアル車」を運転する人が減少していて、これに伴って市場に出回る「マニュアル車」も減り、教習に使う車の確保が難しくなっていたということです。
<br><br>However, according to the National Police Agency, among the over 1.16 million people who obtained a regular drivers license the year before last, approximately 68% obtained a license limited to automatic cars, and the number of people driving manual cars is decreasing. Consequently, the number of manual cars on the market is also decreasing, making it difficult to secure cars for driving lessons.
こうした状況を受けて道路交通法の施行規則が改正され「マニュアル車」を運転できる免許の希望者についても、1日から原則として「オートマチック車」で技能教習が行われることになります。
<br><br>In response to this situation, the enforcement regulations of the Road Traffic Act have been amended, and starting from the 1st, driving skills training will be conducted with automatic vehicles as a general rule, even for those who wish to obtain a license to drive manual vehicles.
仮免許までの技能教習や修了検定、それに、路上での技能教習はすべて「オートマチック車」で行われ、実際に「マニュアル車」を運転するのは、クラッチとギアの操作方法を学ぶ4時限の技能教習と、卒業検定でのクラッチとギアの操作に関する部分だけになります。
<br><br>The driving lessons and completion tests up to the provisional license, as well as the on-road driving lessons, are all conducted with automatic cars. Actually driving a manual car is limited to the four-hour driving lessons where you learn how to operate the clutch and gears, and the part concerning clutch and gear operation in the graduation test.
また「マニュアル車」では路上は走行せず、すべて教習所内のコースが使われます。

タクシーやハイヤーを運転するための免許の教習も同様に「オートマチック車」で行われることになります。

また大型車や中型車についても再来年にかけて段階的に「オートマチック車」限定の免許ができるのにあわせて、教習が見直されることになっています。
