Five people, including a doctor, have been charged in connection with the death last year of Matthew Perry, an actor who appeared on the popular American TV drama ”Friends.”
Actor Matthew Perry (age 54 at the time) died last October at his home in Los Angeles after taking an overdose of ketamine, which is used to treat depression.
On the 15th, federal prosecutors arrested a man who was a doctor who prescribed lethal doses of ketamine and a woman who was a Hollywood dealer known as the Ketamine Queen.
The two have already been indicted by a grand jury, and three others, including the attendant who injected Perry with ketamine, have also been indicted and have pleaded guilty.
Although ketamine is said to be effective for severe depression, there are many cases of death due to abuse.
Mr. Perry had received treatment for drug addiction many times in the past.
