After the Islamic organization Hamas killed an American hostage held in the Gaza Strip, it has been learned that the hostage’s family has asked the White House to directly negotiate with Hamas for their release.
America’s NBC News reported on the 5th, citing multiple sources, that the families of American hostages still being held have asked the White House to negotiate directly with Hamas without involving Israel.
This is due to the fact that a 23-year-old American hostage was killed in a tunnel in the Gaza Strip, and there is a growing expectation that Prime Minister Netanyahu will maintain a hard-line stance and not agree to ceasefire negotiations.
It was reported that the Biden administration was considering this idea once in June, but some senior administration officials opposed it and it did not progress.
Multiple media outlets are also reporting that the United States will soon present a new ceasefire proposal to both Israel and Hamas.
