EUの欧州委員会は24日、アップルのアプリ市場「アップストア」について「デジタル市場法に違反している」とする予備的な調査結果を発表しました。
On the 24th, the EU European Commission announced a preliminary finding that Apple's "App Store" application market ''violates digital market law.''
デジタル市場法では巨大IT企業が自社のサービスを優遇することを禁じていますが、アップルは「アプリの開発者が『アップストア』以外で消費者にアプリを提供することを妨げている」と指摘しています。　
The Digital Markets Act prohibits giant IT companies from giving preferential treatment to their services, but Apple points out that it "prevents app developers from making their apps available to consumers outside the App Store".
違反が正式に認定された場合、全世界の年間売上高の10％の制裁金が科される可能性があります。　
If violations are officially recognized, Apple could be fined 10% of annual worldwide revenue.
今回の発表に対し、アップルはこう話しています。
Apple had the following to say about this announcement.
「開発者や欧州委員会からの意見に対応し、多くの変更を加えてきた。私たちの計画が法律に従っていると確信している」
"We have made a number of changes in response to input from developers and the European Commission. We are confident that our plans comply with the law."
