たいへんけちん坊な旦那がおりました。
There was a very cheapskate man
ある時、手紙を出そうと思いましたが、急に紙に書くのがもったいなくなりました。

旦那は庭のカキの木の葉っぱを二、三枚取ると、それに手紙を書いて使いの者に持たせました。

しばらくたって使いの者が帰ってきますと、旦那が聞きました。

使いの者が背中を見せると、けちん坊の旦那は残念そうに言いました。
When the servant showed his back the cheapskate man seemed regretable
なんと、その手があったか。
