総務省が発表した今年1月1日現在の日本の総人口は1億2541万人余りで、10年連続で減少しました。
総務省が発表した住民基本台帳人口によりますと今年1月1日現在の日本の総人口は1億2541万6877人で調査の対象に外国人の住民を含めるようになった2013年から10年連続で減少しました。
このうち日本人は1億2242万3038人で、2009年から14年連続で減少した一方、外国人は299万3839人で、3年ぶりに増加しました。
都道府県別にみると、最も人口が多いのは東京都で1384万1665人、最も人口が少ないのは鳥取県で54万6558人でした。
また、次の選挙から新しい区割りが適用される衆議院の小選挙区の「一票の格差」を巡っては、
最も人口が少ない鳥取1区と比べて福岡5区の2.054倍を筆頭に京都6区、福岡3区、茨城6区の4つの選挙区で格差が2倍以上となることがテレビ朝日の試算で分かりました。
