国賓としてイギリスを訪問していた天皇皇后両陛下が帰国されました。　
The Emperor and Empress have returned from a state visit to the United Kingdom.
天皇皇后両陛下を乗せた政府専用機は午後6時前に羽田空港に到着し、両陛下はこの間、国事行為の臨時代行を務めていた秋篠宮さまらの出迎えを受けられました。　
The government plane carrying the Emperor and Empress arrived at Haneda Airport shortly before 6 p.m., and the Emperor was greeted by Prince Akishino, who is serving as interim official in charge of state affairs and the others.
両陛下は国賓として、8日間の日程のイギリス訪問について「王室の方々と旧交を温めることができたことをうれしく思っております」
The Emperor expressed his impressions of his eight-day visit to the UK as a state guest, saying: “I am very happy to be able to renew old friendships with members of the Imperial Family.”
「英国の人々が日本に対して温かい気持ちを寄せていただいていることを実感し、うれしく思いました」
“I am really pleased to see that the British people have such passionate feelings towards Japan.”
「この度の訪問により、両国の国民の相互理解が更に深まり、日本と英国の友好親善と協力関係が一層進展することとなればうれしく思います」などと感想を寄せられました。
''I hope that this visit will deepen the mutual understanding between our two peoples, and further develop the relationship of friendship and cooperation between Japan and the United Kingdom.”
