ある政治家のスピーチを聞いて感動した一人の学生、「スピーチの準備にはどれぐらい時間がかかるのですか。」と質問した。政治家は「それはスピーチの長さによります」と答えた。学生が「今日は長いスピーチでしたから、きっと長く準備をされたんでしょうね。」というと、政治家は「そういうことではありません。いくら話してもいいのなら、今すぐできますが、５分のスピーチを頼まれたら、準備に２週間はかかるでしょう。」と答えたそうだ。
