日本でも人気を集めているアート集団「チームラボ」の大規模ミュージアムが中東で初めてサウジアラビアでオープンします。
A large-scale museum by the art group teamLab, which is gaining popularity in Japan, will open its doors for the first time in Saudi Arabia in the Middle East.
6月10日にオープンする「チームラボボーダレス　ジッダ」は、サウジアラビア西部・ジッダの世界遺産にも登録されている歴史地区に常設されます。　
TeamLab Borderless Jeddah, scheduled to open on June 10, will be permanently located in the historic district of Jeddah in western Saudi Arabia, which has also been registered as a World Heritage Site.
延べ床面積は1万平方メートルにも及び、「運動の森」などデジタルテクノロジーを駆使した80以上のアート作品が境界なく連なっています。　
With a total floor area of 10,000 square meters, more than 80 artworks take full advantage of digital technology, such as the borderless connected “Moving Forest”.
訪問者は中を歩き回り自ら新たな発見をすることができるほか、周りの人とともに大きな絵を描くなど「共同的な創造」もテーマになっています。
Visitors can walk around and discover new things on their own with the theme being “collaborative creativity,” such as drawing large paintings with people around them.　
サウジアラビアは近年、ムハンマド皇太子の指導のもと石油資源に代わる産業育成に力を入れていて、中東で初めてとなるこのミュージアムも観光産業の目玉となりそうです。
In recent years, Saudi Arabia has focused on developing industries to replace oil resources under the leadership of Crown Prince Mohammed, and the museum, the first of its kind in the Middle East, will likely become the center of the tourism industry.
