次世代半導体の国内での量産を目指す「ラピダス」は、北海道千歳市で新たな工場の建設を本格的に始めました。　
Rapidus, with the goal of mass-producing next-generation semiconductors in Japan, has begun comprehensive construction of a new factory in Chitose City, Hokkaido.
昨日の起工式には、ラピダスの小池社長や西村経済産業大臣、鈴木北海道知事のほか、関連する企業の幹部など約130人が出席しました。　
About 130 people attended the groundbreaking ceremony yesterday, including President Rapidus Koike, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Nishimura, Governor of Hokkaido Suzuki and executives of related companies.
ラピダスはスマートフォンやAIなどに使われる回路の幅が2ナノメートル以下の次世代半導体を2027年から量産する計画です。　
Rapidus plans to mass produce next-generation semiconductors with circuit widths of 2 nanometers or less used in smartphones, AI, and more starting in 2027.

新たな工場では2025年に試作ラインを稼働させる予定です。
The new factory is expected to have a trial production line in operation by 2025.
