天皇皇后両陛下の長女、愛子さまが20歳の誕生日を迎え、成年皇族となられました。

宮内庁は、愛子さまが皇居・三の丸尚蔵館で収蔵品の説明を受けるご様子などを公開しました。

愛子さまは学習院大学の2年生で、日本文学などについて学んでいて、「源氏物語」にまつわる屏風などを熱心にご覧になっていたということです。　
Princess Aiko is a second year student at Gakushuin University, currently studying Japanese literature, she is attentively examining the folding screens related to "Genji Monogatari".
愛子さまは「これからは成年皇族の一員として、一つ一つのお務めに真摯に向き合い、できる限り両陛下をお助けしていきたいと考えております」とコメントを出されました。

これまで20歳の誕生日に向けて事前に行われていた記者会見について宮内庁は、愛子さまが現在、オンライン授業などで忙しいことなどを理由に来年の3月中旬に実施するとしています。

愛子さまのお祝い行事は2日にわけて行われ、1日は夕方に宮内庁長官らからあいさつを受け、その後、天皇・皇后両陛下とお祝いの食事をされる予定です。
