益子焼で知られる栃木県益子町では、秋恒例の陶器市が3日から始まっています。
約600のテントが立ち並び、6日までの4日間で約15万人が訪れるということです。
益子町の陶器市は毎年、春と秋の2回開かれていて、今回で108回目です。
約50の陶器販売店のほか、約600のテントが立ち並んでいて、伝統的な益子焼だけでなく日常的に使う皿やコップ、美術品まで販売されています。
窯元の職人や作家と会話をしながら品物を選ぶことができるのも、この陶器市の醍醐味の一つです。
「お客様とあんまり話せるチャンスがないので、直接話して感想を聞きながら売れるのはこっちも勉強になるので助かります」
「買ったものを新居で使う予定なんですけど、使うことが楽しみ。行ったことを思い出しながら使うのもいいですし」
汗ばむ陽気のなか、訪れた人たちはじっくりと品定めをするなど買い物を楽しんでいました。
陶器市は6日までで、期間中は約15万人が訪れてにぎわうということです。
