日本でも店舗を展開するアメリカのシーフードレストランチェーン「レッドロブスター」が、連邦破産法第11条の適用を申請し、経営破綻しました。　
Red Lobster, an American seafood restaurant chain with stores in Japan, filed for Article 11 bankruptcy protection and declared bankruptcy.
レッドロブスターは19日、フロリダ州の連邦破産裁判所に破産法第11条に基づく会社更生手続きを申請しました。　
On the 19th, Red Lobster filed for corporate reorganization with the United States Bankruptcy Court in Florida pursuant to Article 11 of the Bankruptcy Code.
レッドロブスターは近年、ファストフードチェーンとの競合激化に加えて、人件費や店舗賃料の高騰に苦しんでいました。　
In recent years, Red Lobster has been struggling with growing competition from fast-food chains as well as rising labor costs and store rent.
去年、期間限定だった20ドルでのエビ食べ放題を通常メニューにしたことも経営を圧迫したとみられています。
Last year, the company's decision to make all-you-can-eat shrimp for $20 a regular menu item for a limited time was also said to have put pressure on its business.
今後は店舗数の削減など、経営改革を進め事業の売却先の検討を進める方針です。

一方、日本法人は「資金繰りなどは日本で完結していて、経営母体が別」として、影響が無いとしています。
