India's population is expected to exceed 1.428 billion by the middle of this year, surpassing China and becoming "the world's largest," a United Nations agency has revealed.
国連人口基金は19日、今年の半ばまでに世界の総人口が80億4500万人に達するとの報告書を発表しました。　
The United Nations Population Fund released a report on the 19th that the total world population will reach 8.045 billion by the middle of this year.
国別ではインドが最も多くて14億2860万人、中国は14億2570万人となっていて、年内にインドが中国を290万人上回り、世界一となる見通しが示されています。　
By country, India has the largest number of people with 1,428.6 million people and China has 1,425.7 million people, shows that India is expected to overtake China with 2.9 million people by the end of the year to become the world's most populous country.
インドメディアは「国連が人口の統計データを発表するようになって以降、中国を超えたのは初めてだ」などと報じています。　
Indian media reported that this is the first time India's population has surpassed China's since the United Nations began publishing census data.
今回、発表された中国の人口には約750万人の人口を有する香港のほか、台湾やマカオの人口は含まれていません。
