Once upon a time,あしがら山の山奥に、金太郎という名前の男の子がいました。
there was a boy living in Mt. Ashiraga. His name was Kintaro.金太郎の友だちは、山の動物たちです。
Kintaro's friends were the creatures of the mountains.金太郎は毎日毎日、
Every day,動物たちとすもうをして遊んでいました。
he played sumo with all of the animals.「はっけよい、のこった、のこった」
"Well-done, go on, go on."「金太郎、がんばれ、クマさんも負けるな」
"Kintaro, fighting! Don't lose him, Bear."だけど勝つのはいつも金太郎で、大きな体のクマでも金太郎にはかないません。
But the winner was Kintaro, as always. A strong, big bear couldn't beat him, either.「こうさん、こうさん、金太郎は強いなあ。
"Alright, alright, Kintaro is very strong.でも、次は負けないぞ」
But we won't lose next time." The bear said.今度は、つな引きです。金太郎一人と、山中の動物たちの勝負です。
Next time, Kintaro had a tug of war with all of the animals.動物たちの中には、体の大きなクマやウシやウマやシカもいましたが、
Among the animals, there were a big bear, a cow, a horse and a deer,金太郎にかないません。
but finally, they couldn't win.「つな引きも、金太郎の勝ち!」
"Kintaro wins a tug of war, too." Animals said.なんとも大変力持ちの金太郎ですが、強いだけでなく、とてもやさしい男の子です。
Kintaro was very powerful, but he was both strong and kind.ある日、クマの背中に乗って山道を行くと、谷のところで動物たちが困っていました。
One day, Kintaro climbed onto the bear's back and went off into the mountain with his friends. But when they arrived at the valley, they were in trouble.「どうしよう? 橋がないから、向こうへわたれないよ」
"What will we do now? There is no bridge, we can not cross over there."「よし、ぼくにまかせておけ」
"Well, leave it to me." Kintaro said金太郎は近くに生えている大きな木を見つけると、
He found a big tree growing nearby,「よし、ちょうどいい大きさだ」
"Oh, this tree is good."と、いって、その大きな木に体当たりをしました。
he said, and tried to knock the big tree down.ドーン!
Bang!すると大きな木は簡単に折れてしまい、
The big tree was knocked down easily,金太郎がそれを持ち上げて谷にかけると、あっという間に一本橋の出来上がりです。
Kintaro lifted it up, placed on the valley and simply, they had a bridge.「わーい。どうも、ありがとう」
"Wow, thank you."動物たちは大喜びで、金太郎のつくってくれた橋を渡りました
The animals were very happy, then they crossed the bridge that Kintaro had made.その後、
