むかしむかし、あるところに、とてもけちな男が住んでいて、いつもこう言っていました。
ああ、
仕事は良くするが、ご飯んを食べない嫁さんが欲しいなあ
そんな人がいるはずないのですが、ある時、一人の女が男の家を訪ねて来て、
わたしはごはんを食べずに、仕事ばかりする女です。
どうか、嫁にしてくださいな
と、言うではありませんか。
それを聞いた男は大喜びで、女を嫁にしました。
男の嫁になった女は、とても良く働きます。
そしてご飯を、全く食べようとしません。
ご飯は食べないし、良く仕事をするし、本当にいい嫁じゃ
ところがある日、男は家の米俵が少なくなっているのに気がつきました。
おや？
おかしいな。
嫁はご飯んを食べないはずだし
とりあえず男は、嫁に聞いてみましたが、
いいえ。わたしは知りませんよ
と、言うのです。
あんまり変なので、次の朝、男は仕事に行くふりをして、家の天井に隠れて見張っていました。
すると嫁は倉から米を一俵かついで来て、どこからか持って来た大きなカマで一度にご飯を炊きあげました。
そして塩を一升用意すると、おにぎりを次々と作って山の様に積み上げたのです。
